Computer Lab Corner

Dial up access available during open lab time.

Class times: Tuesdays 12:00noon to 2:00pm Graphics for all skill levels
2:00 – 3:00pm Basic training, internet and security skills

Thursdays 12:30pm to 2:00pm open for general usage

The lab is in need of Windows 98 programs and Norton Antivirus programs. They also need printer paper and ink cartridges. Donations for these items are gladly accepted.

Whoos On First

 Antiques and Collectibles, gifts, crafts, and lots of cool stuff.  Bring your donations to the Center to sell at the store.  Keep watching the sign outside where Reliable Auto used to be for the Grand Opening Date.  Located on 1st street next to The Mane Event.

The Center is in need of 2-20ft. ocean vans for temporary storage. A donation would be appreciated. We will consider a modest cost. Look around. Maybe your neighbor has one if you don’t.

Unused Cell Phones & Printer Cartridges.

 If you have any of the above items lying around, bring them to the Center.  We recycle them for a great fundraiser for the Senior Center

Food Handler’s Card

              New Antiques and Collectibles Store
This store will help fund the Senior Center. We will be needing lots of wonderful stuff to sell and people to repair, display and sell the wonderful stuff. If you have some wonderful stuff to donate, call and we will pick it up. We are looking for just about everything. If you have a flare for display and selling, call and we will sign you up.

Classes are held on Thursdays 11:00am to 12:30pm

Exercise class

If you have spent your summer eating ice cream

and need to get back in shape, we have two

exercise classes every Mon, Wed, and

Fri. 8:00am and 9:00am.

there is no charge for this activity.

Gift Shop

The gift shop sales are picking up quite briskly. We sold over $100.00 in gifts last month. If you have anything that might sell in the shop, a donation would be appreciated. If you need that special gift, come in and look around.

Help Wanted
Rest stop fundraiser is scheduled for

June 30th to July 2, 2004.
We make a lot of money with this event and need help from the membership. We need cookies, coffee, and most of all, people to staff the coffee stand. I will have a sign up sheet at the front desk, so please sign
up.
 

Paper recycling

We have bins for paper recycling.  Please bring your old books, magazines, and newspapers to the UKCSC to be recycled.  Bring to the front lobby and we will place them in the bins.

We are looking for help from our membership.  We would like to expand our daily activities and need to know what you would like for us of offer.  Please let us know if you have anything you would like to see us present here.  Our pinochle group continues to grow, exercise has 6 sessions a week, quilting and pine needle basketry groups meet weekly. You are welcome to join any of those groups. 

Tai Chi

Tai chi class has begun again.  It runs from 10:30am until 11:30am on Tuesdays and costs $3.00.  No registration is necessary.  Just show up and learn how to be healthier and in better condition.

Volunteers

We are always looking for people who would like to help out here at the Center. Some of the jobs needing attention are:
1. Kitchen help, cooking, prep, cleaning
2. Driver delivery of meals on Wed]
3. Coffee hostess
4. Breakfast help, Tues and Thurs
5. Setting rooms up for events
6. Basic cleaning
7. Delivering flyers
8. Craft room organization
 

Bingo

Friday night Bingo has begun.  Starts at 7:00pm.  This is open to the public and children over the age of 8 are welcome if accompanied by an adult. 

 

Fall Clean Up

We need to prepare the building for fall.  If anyone would like to help dust and clean with us, give us a call.  674-7530

Special thanks to all those who helped out at the Center while I was on vacation.  Without you guys, the Center would not run.
